We’d love to hear from people in and around Saltash who might like to help create a Quiet Connections Meet Up locally. And if you live elsewhere in Cornwall and wish there was a Meet Up closer to home, you can tell us that too. A Meet Up can feel quite different when it is…
By the end of HushFest at St Cubert’s Church in July, there was already talk of continuing something locally. That idea has now become a new regular Quiet Connections Meet Up in Cubert. From Thursday 1st October, Wendy, Kath, Sue and Sarah will be helping to run the Meet Up at St Cubert’s Church every…
Starting somewhere new can involve a lot of unknowns. Who will be there? What am I supposed to do when I arrive? Will everyone already know each other? Am I going to have to introduce myself to the group? What if I don’t feel like talking much? So, before we tell you much about why…
What is a Quieteer? There’s no one way to be quiet. No single story that fits us all. We’ve come to know and love a wide and wonderful range of people who feel most at home in the calm, the thoughtful, and the slow. People who care deeply, notice quietly, and move through the world…
In every space we create at Quiet Connections – in a room together, online, or in moments shared in passing – we’re making a quiet promise to one another. A promise that says: you are seen, you are respected, you belong here. Each of us arrives with a different story, a different way of being….
There’s a quiet kind of courage that often goes unnoticed. It’s not the sort that draws attention. It doesn’t shout or demand to be seen. It’s the gentle bravery that stirs in someone’s chest as they allow themselves to be real with you—perhaps for the very first time. It’s the pause before they speak, the…
When we think about connection, we often picture deep conversations, shared stories, and words of affirmation. But connection isn’t just about talking. Some of the most profound moments of closeness happen in silence—when words are unnecessary, and presence speaks for itself. For those of us who are quieter, the pressure to fill silence can feel…
The Flawed Narrative of ‘Fixing’ If you’re a quieter person, you’ve likely experienced a moment when someone, perhaps with the best intentions, tried to ‘help’ by encouraging you to be more outgoing. “Just speak up.” “Go and talk to people.” As if it should be that simple. Instead of feeling supported, we can be left…
Quiet Connections is delighted to announce the launch of its new Weekly Meet Ups in Newquay, providing a gentle and welcoming space for quieter individuals to connect in a way that feels authentic and pressure-free. Starting Tuesday, 25th March, the Meet Ups will take place every week from 2:30pm to 4:30pm at The Hub, Nansledan….
We know that many of you wonder why our Meet Ups aren’t available in every corner of Cornwall–and even the Country–and why we sometimes can’t secure the local venues you know and love that seem ideal. These questions matter, and we want to be open about the challenges we face and how you can help…
For many of us, finding a space where we can truly be ourselves is a challenge. The world can feel overwhelming, especially when we don’t seem to fit the mould of what might be considered ‘normal’. At Quiet Connections, we’re dedicated to creating safe spaces where all quieter individuals feel a sense of belonging and…
You might have heard of Quiet Connections and assumed we’re a support group. It’s an easy mistake to make, especially when we talk about creating spaces where quiet people, those of us who feel shy, introverted, highly sensitive, or experience social anxiety, can connect and grow. While we do support one another in many ways,…
