Volunteer with Quiet Connections

You don’t have to be loud to lead.

At Quiet Connections, volunteers help create spaces where people feel seen, accepted and gently supported. Whether you're welcoming someone at a Meet Up for the first time or offering your creative skills behind the scenes, you're part of a quiet movement that’s making a meaningful difference.

We believe that calm, caring people can create powerful change simply by showing up with kindness. If you value listening, compassion and connection, we’d love to hear from you.

Why volunteer with us?

Volunteering with Quiet Connections means joining a compassionate and understanding team. We know what it’s like to experience the world more quietly.

People join us for different reasons...

  • Some are looking for purpose or new ways to connect.
  • Some want to give back after their own experiences.
  • Some are gently building confidence.
  • And all want to be part of a kind, calm community.

Whatever brings you here, you’ll be supported to grow in your own way and in your own time. You’ll have access to training, helpful resources and a team that truly understands. Together, we’re creating spaces of connection, where no one has to pretend, perform or push themselves to be someone they’re not.

Volunteer Roles

We’re currently welcoming new volunteers into the roles below.

Quiet Connector

Weekly Meet Ups
Time: 6 to 8 hours a month
Location: Cornwall (various locations)

As a Quiet Connector, you’ll help co-host regular in-person Meet Ups with a small, friendly local team. These gentle gatherings offer a calm, welcoming space where quieter people—our fellow quieteers—can feel at ease, connect, and be themselves.

You might greet someone new, offer quiet encouragement, or help things flow in a steady and supportive way. There’s no pressure to lead or speak up loudly. Just showing up with care and presence makes a real difference.

You’ll be supported with resources, team chats, and regular check-ins as you ease into the role and find your natural rhythm.

Pop-Up Meet Up Connector

Occasional Gatherings
Time: Flexible
Location: Cornwall and surrounding areas

If you’d like to create occasional or seasonal Meet Ups in your area, this role offers the freedom to shape something truly your own. You might host a gentle walk, a creative gathering, or a beach clean –any simple moment of community connection. You might also help out with promoting these events.

You can do this solo or ideally with a friend and fellow quieteer. We’ll offer ideas, guidance and easy-to-use resources so you feel supported every step of the way.

There’s no set schedule –just offer what feels nourishing and doable for you, when the time feels right.

Marketing or Fundraising Assistant

Behind the scenes & in your local community
Time: 2 to 4 hours a month (flexible)
Location: Cornwall-based

This is a quiet and creative way to support your local Meet Up through gentle promotion and community involvement. Whether you enjoy writing, sharing events, or helping things run in the background, there’s space to contribute in your own way.

You might share flyers in local spaces, write short content or reflections for others to post online, or attend events to help spread the word. You’ll have access to our templates, guidance and kind support.

If you’re drawn to fundraising, you could help with local ideas like car boot sales or small grants. Your strengths and voice are valued here.

There’s no one “right” way to volunteer. What matters most is finding a way to show up that feels meaningful for you. You’ll be part of a supportive team, where each person brings their own strengths—and together, we create something greater than the sum of our parts.

If something here feels like a quiet yes, we’d love to hear from you. Together, we’re shaping a kinder, more connected world—where quieter voices are heard, valued, and truly belong.
