Why Aren’t There Meet Ups Near Me? – Our Quiet Community’s Expansion
We know that many of you wonder why our Meet Ups aren’t available in every corner of Cornwall–and even the Country–and why we sometimes can’t secure the local venues you know and love that seem ideal. These questions matter, and we want to be open about the challenges we face and how you can help us grow our community.
At Quiet Connections CIC, our mission is to create safe, welcoming spaces for quiet people to connect, share, and flourish. We want to see our community spread far and wide, reaching every area where quieteers are waiting for us. We understand the frustration when our Meet Ups aren’t everywhere you’d hoped, but the truth is that our work is deeply rooted in community support and resource-sharing.
Our current Meet Ups have been made possible because of the dedication of our small, volunteer-led team of people who, like you, value the power of quiet togetherness. The reality is that our Meet Ups depend entirely on the funds we raise and the volunteer support we can secure in each town.
This means that while there might be a desire for Meet Ups to start in a new location, or a venue might seem ideal, we must work within our resources to ensure our Meet Ups become sustainable and true to our grassroots approach.
Why We’re Not Everywhere – Yet
Our community is growing, and we share your desire to see Meet Ups in more areas. However, the cost of these venues and the need for local, reliable volunteer teams mean we must be strategic in how we expand. It’s not that we don’t want to be everywhere; it’s that we want to be everywhere in a way that honours our values and keeps our community safe and welcoming.
How You Can Help
The journey to reaching every corner of our county–and then our country– is one we take together. Here are some ways you can support us:
-
Volunteer Your Time and Skills:
Every bit of support counts. Whether you can help organise local events, assist with promotional tasks, or simply be a friendly face at a Meet Up, your involvement is crucial. If you’re interested in volunteering, please get in touch with us. Your presence could be the key to unlocking a new Meet Up in your area. -
Share Your Local Knowledge:
If you know of suitable venues in your area or have connections with local groups, please share your ideas with us. Your insight is invaluable and can help us find spaces that truly feel like home for our quiet community. -
Support Our Fundraising Efforts:
Every donation, no matter the size, helps us move closer to establishing a new Meet Up. Consider contributing, organising a fundraiser–like a car boot sale or an event–or helping us spread the word about our fundraising campaigns. Your support directly helps us cover costs of running Quiet Connections and ensure our Meet Ups continue to thrive and expand throughout and beyond Cornwall. -
Spread the Word:
Engage with us on social media, share our posts, and invite others to join our community. The more people who know about our mission, the stronger and more resilient our network becomes.
Moving Forward, Together
We are deeply grateful for your understanding and support. Our work may be challenging, but every volunteer hour, every shared idea, and every donation strengthens our community. While we might not be in every town today, your involvement means that tomorrow we can welcome more quiet voices and create more safe spaces for us all.
If you’re ready to help us expand Quiet Connections CIC into more areas, please reach out. Together, we can ensure that every quiet person feels welcome and supported, no matter where they are in our county.
Thank you for being part of our journey and for believing in the power of our quiet strength.
