The St Ives Slayer, The Portreath Witch and a dodgy burglar from The Lamorna Brown Affair meet Jo from Quiet Connections to hand over the Escape Room Challenge Cheque.

Cornwall Escape Room Challenge raises £387 for Quiet Connections

The first Cornwall Escape Room Challenge has raised £387 for Quiet Connections CIC, with three West Cornwall escape room businesses donating £1 from every qualifying booking.

Thank you to Escape Rooms Cornwall in Penzance, Locked In Escape Rooms in Camborne and Escape Time St Ives, and everyone who booked during the Challenge, which ran from 17th August to 17th September 2026.

Across the three venues, 387 bookings contributed to the £387 total, supporting Quiet Connections’ work with quieter people across Cornwall. Thank you to the escape rooms for making this donation possible, and to everyone whose booking helped.

Our Community Engagement & Volunteer Lead, Jo Buckingham, collected the cheque with some unusual company: the St Ives Slayer, the Portreath Witch from The Smoke House Curse and a rather dodgy burglar from The Lamorna Brown Affair. The teams brought along a character from each venue for the handover. Thankfully, everyone behaved themselves for the photograph.

The Challenge also included a prize draw for a private escape room experience. Congratulations to Stephen, who booked through Escape Time St Ives and has now claimed his prize game.

We’ve enjoyed getting to know the escape room teams through our community visits, and we’re grateful that they chose to support Quiet Connections through this fundraiser. If you missed our earlier post, you can read about those visits and how the Challenge began here.

The Challenge has finished, but you can still use QC10 for 10% off your game at all three venues:

And if you’ve discovered Quiet Connections through the Challenge, you’re welcome to find out more about our Meet Ups here.
