Celebrating Connection and Creativity: Our Partnership with Create CIC
We’re thrilled to announce our blossoming partnership with Create CIC, a community-oriented organisation co-founded by Angela Hatherell. Dedicated to sparking creativity, encouraging connection, and supporting wellbeing, Create CIC shares our vision for inclusivity and empowerment through creative expression. Our founder, Hayley Stanton, connected with Angela earlier this year during a workshop – where her knack for spotting a “quieteer” in the room shone through! Since then, Angela has become a regular at our Falmouth Meet Ups, and this connection has paved the way for a meaningful partnership.
Create CIC
Create CIC is an inspiring community organisation in Cornwall, led by a team of skilled professionals with a passion for making creativity accessible to all. Established by co-founders Angela Hatherell and Jane Smith, along with team members Helen Eastham, Lois Jones, and Megan Roberts, Create CIC brings together expertise in glass, ceramics, and jewellery to foster a welcoming environment where anyone can learn, connect, and grow through art.
Based in the historic Donald Thomas Centre in Camborne, Create CIC’s Contemporary Crafts Hub provides craft workshops and skill-building courses for people of all ages and abilities. This unique space, beautifully renovated as part of Camborne’s town regeneration project, offers an opportunity for locals to learn ceramics, jewellery-making, and glass art in a safe, supportive setting. Whether you’re interested in joining a class, using their kiln, or even purchasing craft supplies, Create CIC opens the door to creative exploration for everyone in the community. Here’s how we’ve been working together to bring creative, supportive, and quiet-friendly projects to life – from creative projects to our newest weekly Meet Ups in Camborne:
1. The Catch Up Cuppa Project: Sharing Stories Through Art
Our first collaboration began with The Cuppa Project, a wonderful initiative by Create CIC that offered our community members a chance to engage in art and connection. Funded by The National Lottery, the project allowed members at our Meet Ups to create unique artwork for mugs, each design brought to life by the team at Create CIC and fired in their kiln.
If you’re interested in having your own design printed onto a mug, you can reach out to Angela and the team at Create CIC here.
2. Quiet Creativity: A Glass Art Workshop Series
In November, we’re excited to kick off our Quiet Creativity project, funded by FEAST Cornwall. This series of workshops invites community members to dive into the art of glass-making in a relaxed, quiet-friendly environment. Led by professional artists, each session offers a chance to explore a different form of glass art, whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to develop your skills.
The workshops are currently fully booked, reflecting the strong interest from people eager to explore creativity in a calm, welcoming space. However, a waiting list is available for any cancellations, which you can find here. Over four Wednesday afternoons in November, participants will gather at Create CIC in Camborne from 2:00 to 4:00 PM to create a range of beautiful pieces, including:
- Fused glass coasters on 6th November
- Window hangers on 13th November
- Glass dishes on 20th November
- Festive Christmas decorations on 27th November
We’re thrilled to offer a space where our quiet members can build new skills, connect with others, and discover the therapeutic benefits of creative expression.
3. Weekly Meet Ups at Create CIC: Expanding Our Quiet Community in Camborne
With a shared commitment to inclusivity, we’re partnering with Create CIC to bring our weekly Meet Ups to Camborne, hosted at their Contemporary Crafts Hub. Starting from 29th October, we’ll meet every Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, offering a welcoming space for people to connect, share, and grow together. This new venue is ideal for our quiet community members looking for a safe and friendly environment to build connections, make new friends, and enjoy supportive conversations.

We’re grateful for the enthusiasm Angela and Create CIC have shown in supporting our mission. Through each of these projects, we’re creating more opportunities for quiet people to express themselves, find connection, and celebrate the strength of community. Whether it’s through art or conversation, we know that creative spaces like these can be transformative. Thank you to Create CIC for helping make these experiences possible – we can’t wait to see what we’ll create together.
