How to Ease Anxiety Through Movement

Have you ever noticed how your body feels when you hear your favourite songs and music? Or how your body reacts, responds or moves when feeling happy, sad, stressed, or anxious?

Our body is wonderfully complex and awe inspiring, it enables us to connect with our thoughts, other people and the world we live in. It has a clever way of storing tension, memories and experiences, and is a great medium for self-expression, creativity and connections.

So, did you know that moving your body can shift and release anxious feelings? It’s one of our favourite tools to use But we also know that for many of us who feel socially anxious and as though we freeze in certain situations, moving our bodies, taking up space and trusting ourselves isn’t always that easy to begin with…

So join Elaine Macey, founder of 4Motion CIC, in this relaxing movement inspired workshop, where you will start tapping into different emotions, thoughts and ideas to facilitate movement, dance and flow, to practise safely reconnecting with our bodies, helping you feel more calm and confident.

There’s no right or wrong way of moving, just a care-free and energising experience to help you move like no one is watching!

Please note: this workshop involves physical movement. Please be aware of your body and use good judgement on what you can or cannot do. Sit out any practical exercises if needed. Please wear comfortable clothing and have a drink at hand.
