Clay, Sensitivity and Creativity: Following the Quiet Voice Within

Join us on Wednesday 8th July from 6pm to 8pm, at Create Contemporary Crafts Hub.

Have you ever said the words “I’m not creative”?

For many sensitive people, creativity is something we enjoyed when we were younger, but somewhere along the way it’s become more elusive. Perfectionism, self-consciousness or the pressure to get things right can make creativity feel less natural.

In a space where we can truly slow down and feel comfortable, creativity can unfold in unexpected ways. It becomes a gentle, meaningful way to notice the world we’re a part of, follow our curiosity, and express who we are. Join ceramic artist, creative educator and founder of Pause for Creativity, Lorna Bode, for a two-hour workshop exploring sensitivity and creativity through clay.

Lorna is a highly sensitive person herself and creates spaces where people can connect, reflect and explore creativity without pressure.

About the Workshop

Through clay, conversation and playful experimentation, we will explore creativity in a hands-on and accessible way, and celebrate how sensitivity enriches our lives. Working with liquid and soft clay, we'll experiment, follow our curiosity and see what emerges, before creating a simple pinch pot. You can take your creation home or choose to return it to the earth.

There is no expectation to be artistic or create something impressive. The focus is on curiosity, connection and enjoying the experience of making.

You are welcome whether you already see yourself as creative or whether you have never thought of yourself that way.

What to expect
  • A relaxed, welcoming environment
  • Creative exploration using clay
  • Conversation about sensitivity and creativity
  • Time to experiment and play
  • A simple clay pinch pot to take home or return to the earth
  • Connection with other sensitive and thoughtful people
