Connect with likeminded quieteers for a wintery walk & hot drink at Pinetum Gardens, St Austell on Thursday 14th December from 11am.
This Pop Up Meet Up is designed to help you enjoy something you might not normally do with likeminded people in a calm and gentle way that feels authentic to your true quiet self. It’s a safe space for you to gently stretch your comfort zone as part of a community of quieteers who truly get you.

Hi, we're Stacie & Therese. We’ll be here to greet you and answer any questions or concerns that you might have.

"After years of being told I was "too sensitive" and feeling ashamed of my quieter nature, I have learned to love and embrace this part of who I am. Social settings and connecting with others hasn't always felt easy for me (and sometimes it stills feel a challenge!), and after a lot of self-exploration to help ease those doubts and anxieties, I now know that connecting with the right people, such as yourself, is an uplifting, energising and comforting experience. I hope you'll experience this too and I look forward to welcoming you at this meet up."

"Growing up as an only child, I was naturally shy and quiet and found it difficult to form friendships. But over the years, I have grown in confidence and become more comfortable with people. Now, I’m a pranic healer and my passion is helping people to connect in the community. I started up a community magazine five years ago and I now run three, including Truro Together. I love connecting quieteers at our Meet Ups, and hope you’ll join us so you can gain more confidence and build friendships with us, too."
What to Expect
A relaxed, calming environment
Pinetum Gardens is beautiful, calming and spacious. We'll have the opportunity to explore the Pinetum Forrest, Japanese Garden, Winter Garden, Courtyards and lake... where you can purchase a 50p bag of feed for the ducks & geese. After wandering around the grounds, we'll stop off in the marquee cafe to warm our bellies with a hot drink.
A community of understanding
Our gentle-natured team and your fellow quieteers are likely to share similar feelings and experiences with you. So here you can connect with people who truly get you - and feel part of a supportive, welcoming community together.
You can go at your own pace
We'll be walking at a leisurely pace with opportunity to pause along the way, watch the wildlife, feed the ducks, and even enjoy some mindful nature photography. You're invited to walk and join in conversation at a pace that feels good for you.
It’s okay to talk and it’s okay to be quiet too
We understand that you may prefer to ease into conversation gradually, or that some days you might like to walk quietly and take in the natural world whilst simply being in the company of others. We welcome both quietude and chatter.
Dogs welcome
Dogs are welcomed at Pinetum. They ask that you do keep your dog on lead at all times and please pick up any messes.
Winter weather
We'll go ahead in all but the most extreme conditions, so dress for the weather and the magic of winter.

Getting here
- By car: Parking at Pinetum is free.
- By train: St Austell Station is an 7 minute drive away (1.9 miles).
- By bus: The number 24 bus stops on Holmbush Road, followed by a short 5 min walk (0.3 miles).

How to join this Pop Up Meet Up
It would be really helpful if you could sign up using our booking form below. This means we know to look out for you; we can say hello and answer any of your questions before you come along, and we can easily contact you if there are any changes to the Meet Up. It’s your choice though. Either way, we are very much looking forward to meeting you and welcoming you into the group.
